Tiffany Studios, Geranium

This lamp appeared in Christies December 1995 auction of items from the collection of Dr Frank Stanton.

The conical shade decorated with mottled red geranium blossoms above, against a mottled pale blue and green ground amongst a profusion of varied colored green leaves below, interspersed with rippled glass leaves, against a mottled and striated pale pink and green , bordered by three bands in mottled pale pink, blue and green, tag stamped TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK, the standard cast with scrolling tendrils and pods, in rich green-red patina 23" high, 16 1/8" diameter of shade.The geranium pattern was designed by Clara Driscoll and was often shown in early period photograps on various kerosene style bases.
